Since my first actuarial job in Nan Shan Life Insurance, working in Hong Kong has been one of my career dreams because Hong Kong has the leading actuarial market in Asia. I never thought that this dream would come true so quickly in this year. It just happened with a phone call from China and an interview in Taipei. I had the interview directly with the boss. He spent more time introducing his team and practice than asking me questions. I think he was already impressed when he first read my resume. The interview just assured him that I am indeed the person he wants. Miraculously, the great opportunity and challenge were acquired through the shortest and simplest interview I’ve ever had in my actuarial career.
My new job will begin in the middle of November. The new company will provide me moving allowance and put me in a hotel for the first two weeks. Unfortunately, I have to move out of Kaohsiung after living here for only three months. Such move is really out of my expectation. I know God has been watching me all the time. He must think my plan in Kaohsiung is deranged, so He pulls me back to the so-called normal life. Though I can’t stay longer in Kaohsiung, I still hope to live in Kaohsiung when I move back to Taiwan in the future.
It seems to have been my destiny that I hardly can stay at one place or position over two years. I hope I can break the curse when I work in Hong Kong.
A new life is coming. I believe it’ll be a very special chapter in my life story.
