上週一位韓國朋友從台灣旅遊回來，在桃園機場等待回程班機時遇見一位也去台灣自助旅行的韓國年輕女孩，她說行程原本玩的很盡興，但是在她搭計程車往桃園機場的路上，司機在發現她是韓國人之後，竟然在高速公路上趕她下車，讓她感到非常錯愕與驚恐。我的韓國朋友告訴我這故事之後，我感到非常羞愧與憤怒。
A Korean friend returned from his vacation in Taiwan last week. While waiting for the return flight at the airport, he met a young Korean girl who traveled in Taiwan by herself. She told my friend she had good time in her trip until she was asked to get off the taxi on the highway when the taxi driver found out she is Korean. She felt very shocked and horrified. When my Korean friend told me that story, I felt very ashamed and angry.
羞愧的是，我們台灣人一向自認為以「人情味」聞名世界，卻讓外國遊客遭遇如此不友善的對待。憤怒的是，無恥的國民黨及其特定媒體自古至今，為掩飾自己執政的無能與失敗，不斷利用新聞操作刻意讓國人對韓國產生反感的情緒。
What I feel ashamed is that a foreign tourist was treated so rudely in Taiwan when we think we Taiwanese are known for our hospitality. What I feel angry is that the shameless KMT and its media continuously manipulate the news to make Taiwanese have negative feeling about Korea in order to cover up their incompetence and failure in governance.
在我來韓國工作之前，我對韓國一無所知。在台灣新聞媒體的耳濡目染之下，對韓國亦未具好感。但是當我到了韓國，發現首爾的各項建設如此現代化，韓國人也非常友善和親切，許多事情並非如台灣媒體所描述的那樣負面。韓國的基礎建設與經濟實力早已超越台灣，這是不爭的事實。台灣人應該深切反省，並見賢思齊，而不是愚昧地被特定政黨和媒體煽動，莫名其妙地仇視外國人。台灣在國際上沒有地位，我們需要的是更多朋友，而不是去塑造敵人。
I knew nothing about Korea before I came to work in Korea. I also had no positive feeling about Korea after receiving the biased information from Taiwan’s news media. However, after I came to Korea, I found every construction in Seoul very modern and Koreans very friendly and kind. Many things are not as negative as reported in Taiwan’s media. It is a fact that Korean’s infrastructure and economic power have surpassed Taiwan’s. Taiwanese should make deep self-examination and learn from others who are better than us. We should not foolishly be agitated by some political party and media and become hostile to foreigners with no reason. Taiwan has a very weak status in the international community. We need more friends than enemies.
我相信那位惡劣的計程車司機只是個案，我還是聽到很多韓國人喜歡台灣，稱讚台灣的人情味。台灣人該反感的是無能的國民黨和報導偏頗的媒體，唯有剷除這些殘渣，台灣才不會再有讓外國人有負面印象的害群之馬。
I believe the abominable taxi driver is just a special case. Many Koreans have told me they like Taiwan and praised for Taiwanese hospitality. What Taiwanese should feel a strong antipathy toward is the incompetent KMT and biased media. Only eradicating those dregs can avoid the disgraces to Taiwan.
