This was my first stay at the InterContinental Taichung. Having opened in October 2024, the hotel is one of the newest luxury properties in Taichung and has quickly positioned itself among the city’s top-tier accommodations. That said, there are still several areas where improvement is needed.
I booked my stay using the InterContinental Ambassador Complimentary Weekend Night benefit. Unfortunately, the Ambassador benefits were not clearly explained to me at check-in. My room was upgraded by one category, from a Classic Room to a Classic Room with Calligraphy Greenway View. However, I did not find the view particularly impressive or distinctive. Although several suites appeared to be available, the front desk manager declined to offer a complimentary upgrade to a larger room and instead proposed a paid upgrade option.
The Club Lounge, located on the 17th floor, offers three daily service periods: breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening happy hour. Compared to other InterContinental properties I have visited across Asia, the food and beverage selection felt rather limited. Even the breakfast buffet at the main restaurant was relatively simple in variety.
The swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sauna facilities are also on the smaller side. Fortunately, the hotel was not crowded during my stay, which made the experience more comfortable.
I would not describe the service or food quality as poor; however, they did not quite meet the standards I typically associate with the InterContinental brand, especially considering the room rates. I hope that as the hotel continues to mature, these aspects will improve, and I look forward to a better experience should I return in the future.

這是我第一次入住台中洲際酒店。酒店於2024年10月開幕，作為台中最新的豪華酒店之一，已迅速躋身當地高端住宿行列。不過，目前仍有不少可以改進的地方。
此次我使用洲際大使的週末免費住宿禮遇預訂房間。遺憾的是，辦理入住時，前台人員並未完整說明我的大使會員權益。房型僅從豪華房升等至豪華房草悟道景觀，僅升等一個等級，而我個人認為草悟道景真的並不特別出色或令人印象深刻。儘管當時似乎仍有多間套房可供預訂，前台經理仍拒絕提供免費升等至更大房型，而是提出需加價升級的方案。
位於17樓的行政酒廊每日提供三個時段的服務：歐陸式早餐、時令下午茶及晚間經典雞尾酒時光。與我過去入住過的多家亞洲地區洲際酒店相比，這裡的餐飲選擇顯得相對簡單，即使是餐廳的自助式早餐，品項豐富度也較為有限。
游泳池、按摩池與三溫暖設施的空間也偏小。不過慶幸的是，我入住期間人潮不多，因此整體體驗還算舒適。
我並不認為服務或餐食品質不佳，但以目前的房價水準來看，整體表現尚未完全達到我對洲際品牌的期待。希望隨著營運時間的累積，各方面都能持續優化，未來若再度入住，能有更理想的體驗。
